Capto is a simple place to capture thoughts without the friction of a traditional notes app. Open the app and the keyboard is ready; type whatever is on your mind. Each thought appears as a bubble in one stream, like texting yourself. No AI, no rewriting: a private space to think, capture ideas, and leave reminders.
On first launch or when you create a thread, the title field is focused so you can name it; the keyboard is ready for your first thought. Any time you are in a thread, tap the header title to rename inline.
Open Capto.
Type in the field at the bottom.
Tap Send.
Return starts a new line; it does not send.
Use separate threads for different contexts.
Swipe left on a bubble for the checkmark and to toggle done. Done thoughts show a checkmark on the right.
In a thread, tap ⋯ (top right), then Clear completed to remove all done thoughts in that thread.
In the thread list, use the search field at the bottom. Results show which thread each match is in; tap to jump there.
Tap a bubble to see when it was captured; the timestamp hides after a few seconds.
Thoughts group under headers such as Today, Yesterday, or a specific date.
Long-press a bubble and choose Delete, or use selection mode: long-press to select multiple, then delete from the toolbar (select all, deselect all, delete). Tap outside or cancel to exit selection mode. Deleted thoughts are removed immediately.
Choose Capto's accent color in Settings.
On your iPhone only (SwiftData). Nothing is sent to our servers; there is no cloud sync in this version.
No. Capto works offline.
None required for normal use.
Yes, with no ads or in-app purchases in the current offering.
iOS 18 or later.
Tap the field at the bottom. If it persists, force-quit Capto and open it again.
Your default thread (long-press a thread in the list → Set as Default).
Usually not; rename it or set another thread as default.
It goes to Recently deleted in Settings. It is removed permanently after 30 days or when you delete it from that list. Deleting a thread asks for confirmation.
Long-press the bubble, then Copy or Share.
Deleted thoughts stay deleted. Deleted threads can be recovered from Recently deleted in Settings until they expire (30 days) or you remove them from that list.
No hard cap on thoughts or threads. Very long threads may load older messages in batches as you scroll.
Force-quit and reopen; restart the phone if needed. Your local data should remain.
Check device storage, then restart the app or phone.
Scroll up; older messages load as you go.
Check Date & Time in iPhone Settings.
This policy explains how Capto ("we," "our," or "the app") handles information. Gozlan Ventures LLC is committed to protecting your privacy and being clear about our practices.
We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers. We do not track how you use the app, use analytics or advertising SDKs, share your content with third parties, or send your data off your device for our own purposes.

Capto does not integrate third-party services that collect or transmit your data for analytics or cloud sync. SwiftData is provided by Apple as part of the system.
Capto does not require access to contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, or other sensitive capabilities to work.
Your data may appear in iCloud Backup or a Finder / computer backup if you use those. Apple controls those backups and its policies apply. Capto cannot access or manage them. Keep backups enabled or back up regularly if you want your data in those copies.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not collect personal information from users for our servers in general.
We may update this page. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date below. Check back occasionally.
You control your data on device: delete thoughts or threads in the app, use Recently deleted in Settings for threads until they are permanently removed, remove the app (local data goes with it except what remains in backups you keep), and manage backups in iPhone Settings.
In short: Capto is built for privacy. We do not collect your data on our servers. What you create stays on your iPhone and belongs to you.
This Privacy Policy applies to Capto version 1.0 and later.
